Dead Frontier's Bestiary[]

When you first venture into the city, infected appear infrequently and are easy to kill. As you move into the higher level areas, however, progressively tougher infected will appear, some easily identifiable by their unique, mutated body types, and others may sprint at you enraged when you least expect it. The health points of all infected stated here is only at the best accuracy from the actual health value.

There are also several factors, like all kinds of movement (note that movement attracts infected individually) and fighting noise, that will increase "Aggro" (Aggression), or more exactly, the number of infected that may spawn nearby.

Notes:

  • Infected health and experience values get changed every now and then due to Nerotonin-4 mutations. Take these values as estimates, not facts.

Five Stages of Infected Behavior[]

Burning Male Child Infected2

A Burnt Infected in the Sprint State

  • Slumped state is the state wherein the zombie is lying still on their belly face-down the floor to the floor. Zombies start in this state exclusively indoors, however it may also be caused by a player injuring a zombie in another state. If disturbed by a player - the zombie will either change the state to crawling, or it might get off the floor and enter the alterted state.
  • Crawling state is the state wherein the zombie is slowly moving while lying on the floor. Zombies enter this state only from slumped state. Once in this state, they proceed at their lowest non-zero speed.
  • Calm state is the state wherein the infected are walking very slowly and not paying any attention to trespassing survivors. They proceed at their second lowest speed and often stagger randomly.
  • Alerted state is the state wherein the infected are alerted because either the player got too close to an infected, entered it's line of sight or shot a bullet near one; making them notice the nearby player. They proceed to move on their third slowest speed.
  • Sprint state is the state wherein the infected are angered and sprints toward the players gradually taking small walking breaks in between sprints. Occasionally in higher difficulty areas the infected may be enraged by default once they detect the player. They proceed to move at their fastest speed.

Infected[]

The regular infected are the most common kind of enemy that can be found in the world.

Notes:

  • Increased damage taken from players that acquired the Exterminator skill.

1st Generation Variants[]

While in lower-level areas these are some of the weakest infected to be found, in numbers or in higher-level areas they pose a threat to even the most experienced survivors.

Notes:

  • In level 5+ zones adult infected might run outside of an event, can vomit toxic waste at the player that deal 7 damage and has a chance to inflict the Bacterial Poisoning debuff. Indoors only adult infected may spawn Worms upon death. However level 5 zone infected award the same EXP as those found in level 1 zone.
  • Child infected always run, but cannot vomit, nor spawn Worms upon death. Both male and female child infected award the same EXP - the same as adult female infected.
  • The amount of damage received from the Infected seem to vary from attack types, such as being hit by 1 hand may do 8 damage, and being hit by both arms will do 12 damage. Also a bite will do 4 damage per hit (In level 1 area).

In level 1-5 zones bosses (Mutated) appear as larger versions of 4th Generation Infected, always spawning Worms on death.

Worm
Worm
Health Points: 1
Damage per Hit: 7
Calm Speed: Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow
Sprint Speed: Slow
Experience: 2
Level: 5+
Debuffs: None

Stomach worms have always been a health problem long before the infection struck, eating away your last meal in the stomach, thriving in unhygienic conditions and causing many health problems in humans. The N4 virus has mutated your average stomach worm into something that will make a person vomit out of disgust. Dwelling within the rotting carcass of the N4 infected, these worms now feed on their last meals as they did pre-mutation. Furthermore, once their host has died for real, they will emerge out of their former host and seek out a new host, preferably a fresh new body like yours, to occupy and feed on. Often, they devour most unsuspecting survivors before they realize they are being eaten alive by these parasites.

Fairly slow and known to spawn upon the death of any special infected. Spawns indoors only upon killing some regular adult infected in level 5+ areas. Spawn in groups of 1-3.

Damage per Hit: 4 Bite / 4 Single Claw / 8 Double Claw
Calm Speed: Very Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow
Sprint Speed: Fast
Experience: 12
Level: 10+
Debuffs: None

The children were defenseless during the outbreak due to the overwhelming strength of the infected, furthermore once a child was turned into an infected they became faster than regular adult infected, causing the infection to spread faster. Due to their small body they don't have a lot of health.

Cannot vomit or be infected with worms, but guaranteed to run, and runs faster and longer than adult zombies. Has half the health and damage dealing as adult male zombies, but grants the same EXP as adult female zombies.

2nd Generation Variants[]

These enemies are more powerful and deadly than the regular zombies. They can make short work of inexperienced survivors, especially in large groups. These infected can be encountered in level 15+ areas, with a larger proportion of them in level 20 areas vs level 15 areas. In level 25-30 areas one will encounter some level 15 and some level 25 2nd generation infected that look the same, yet level 25 are called "Strong" (in some Challenges) and have +50% HP, do 35% more damage, are more likely to vomit and run longer. They also grant twice as much experience by killing them as level 15 infected. Level 30 areas will have a higher proportion of Strong 2nd generation infected than level 25 areas. Level 35+ areas will no longer have any level 15 non-Strong infected at all, although will still have a proportion of level 25 Strong 2nd generation-only infected (alongside newly appearing 3rd generation variants).

Notes:

  • Some Diseased and Burnt zombies have a 360-degree auras around them that can inflict damage and give debuffs on contact, however EXP reward will not be increased for defeating enemies with aura vs enemies without aura. All Tentacled zombies have damage and stun-inflicting auras too but only in the 180-degree in front of the zombie that inflicts no debuffs by itself (unless a Tentacled zombie concurrently has a Diseased or Burnt aura).
  • Diseased aura inflicts 6 damage, Burnt 8, Tentacled 45, and there are no Bloody or Irradiated auras.
  • Irradiated and Tentacled have +25% HP, Bloody and Scythed have +50% damage, Optic have -33% hp, Diseased are faster. Those bonuses are additive (i.e. A Tentacled Irradiated will have +50% HP, an Optic Irradiated will have -8% HP, and a Scythed Bloody will deal +100% damage).

Somewhat related to the "Red" mutation that appeared in the first weeks of the infection in Fairview city. These zombies have not only mutated stronger muscles which makes them more resistant to physical blows, but they also mutated claws that cuts deep wounds into their victims, leaving them with a bleeding wound that must be treated with a Bandage as soon as possible.

This type of infected is much more resistant and requires more damage to kill. While also inflicting more damage to the player, these zombies have the chance to cut the player and cause them to bleed.

The fatter version of the Bloody Zombie. Don't be fooled - they are harder to kill and knockback due to their many layers of protective fat and corrupted flesh. The "downside" of their additional strength and resistance against hits is that they move slightly slower than regular bloody zombies, although some are known to sprint fast into survivor's faces and turn them into flesh ribbons.

This type of infected is much more resistant in both damage and knockback unlike it's thinner counterpart. While also inflicting more damage to the player, these zombies have the chance to cut the player and cause them to bleed.

Their bodies, already supported by layers of fat and further enhanced muscles by the "Red" strain makes them tanks. Not only do they have deep cutting claws, some of them can even sprint so fast they eviscerate most survivors who tried to take them out.

This type of infected is much more resistant in both damage (more so than it's female counterpart) and knockback unlike it's thinner counterpart. While also inflicting more damage to the player, these zombies have the chance to cut the player and cause them to bleed.

When reports of Fairview Nuclear illegally dumping nuclear waste begin circulating the local news, the irresponsible actions of Fairview Nuclear have caused more than a scandal and an ecological disaster, it also created a new mutation of infected when the N4 virus struck. Survivors who have countered them in close quarters often catch radiation poisoning from them, requiring doses of Iodine Tablets to remedy the radiation sickness.

Level: 15-30, Strong: 25+
Debuffs: Severe Burns

In the first weeks of the infection, it was believed that burning the bodies would eradicate the infection. This was proven false entirely, as the burning infected corpses rose from the pyres and started roaming the streets. The N4 has an accelerated mutation upon contact with fire which creates a special kind of mutation. Luckily, the burning variant seems to be much more tame as a standard mutation compared to reported encounters in Palehaven City. Still, don't get too close to ones with aura else survivors get burned.

These zombies have the chance to burn the player. They may also have a flaming aura that damages anyone close to them.

(Strong) Burnt Adult Male Infected
Health Points: Level 15-20: 16 / Level 25+ (Strong): 24
Damage per Hit: Level 15-20: 6 Bite / 12 Single Claw / 18 Double Claw / 8 Aura / Level 25+ (Strong): 8 Bite / 16 Single Claw / 24 Double Claw / 8 Aura
Calm Speed: Very Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow
Sprint Speed: Medium
Experience: Level 15-20: 32 / Level 25+ (Strong): 64
Level: 15-30, Strong: 25+
Debuffs: Severe Burns

The origin of burning zombies is not only limited to the burning corpse pyres failing to burn the N4 virus. In the first days of the infection (and potentially still going on today), survivors and military attempted to use incendiary weapons to deter hordes of infected. While in some cases it did kill the zombie by fire burning off the nerves, this is outnumbered by cases where it instead made the zombie more "angry", overrunning military positions and burning down outposts quickly. The fire had not only hardened their dead flesh, it also catalyzed a mutation that gives them claws. Unless survivors want to be branded like touching hot iron, take them out fast and afar.

These zombies have the chance to burn the player. They may also have a flaming aura that damages anyone close to them.

(Strong) Burnt Fat Female Infected
Health Points: Level 15-20: 20 / Level 25+ (Strong): 30
Damage per Hit: Level 15-20: 6 Bite / 12 Single Claw / 18 Double Claw / 8 Aura / Level 25+ (Strong): 8 Bite / 16 Single Claw / 24 Double Claw / 8 Aura
Calm Speed: Very Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow
Sprint Speed: Medium
Experience: Level 15-20: 38 / Level 25+ (Strong): 76
Level: 15-30, Strong: 25+
Debuffs: Severe Burns

You've got a hardened undead skin, fire hardening the skin and fire mutations further enhancing the toughness of the skin. Now add a layer of fat flesh and harden it with fire. What you get is a bullet sponge that is capable of taking much more punishment than before. Although weaker than the burning fat males, they are just as strong when it comes to cooking you alive.

These zombies have the chance to burn the player. They may also have a flaming aura that damages anyone close to them.

(Strong) Burnt Fat Male Infected
Health Points: Level 15-20: 24 / Level 25+ (Strong): 36
Damage per Hit: Level 15-20: 6 Bite / 12 Single Claw / 18 Double Claw / 8 Aura / Level 25+ (Strong): 8 Bite / 16 Single Claw / 24 Double Claw / 8 Aura
Calm Speed: Very Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow
Sprint Speed: Medium
Experience: Level 15-20: 48 / Level 25+ (Strong): 96
Level: 15-30, Strong: 25+
Debuffs: Severe Burns

If you have a lot of bullets to spare, be ready to spend them all on these zombies. Their fatty tissues hardened by undeath and fire makes their skin hard like treated wood and very difficult to break with blade or bullet, not to mention getting severe burns from them that burns away layers of the skin and making it more vulnerable to damage. If you think you can take them on, try it if you dare. Otherwise, just run.

These zombies have the chance to burn the player. They may also have a flaming aura that damages anyone close to them.

3rd Generation Variants[]

These infected can be encountered in level 35+ areas, and may or may not include a single 2nd generation variation at the same time (e.g. Scythed Adult Male Zombie would only have a 3rd generation "Scythed" variation, while Scythed Bloody Adult Male Zombie would have both a 3rd generation "Scythed" variation, and a 2nd generation "Bloody" variation), however EXP reward will not be increased for defeating enemies that have two variations vs enemies with only a 3rd generation variation. Level 40 areas will have a higher proportion of infected with 2nd generation variants than level 35 areas.

Unlike 2nd generation variants that have both Strong (level 25) and non-Strong (level 15) versions, all 3rd generation variants have a single level 35 version (i.e. there are no Strong vs non-Strong versions in this case). They have on average 2x health, deal 4x damage and grant +50% EXP of level 25 Strong 2nd generation variation enemies.

Scythed Infected

These special infected sport either 1 or 2 long razor sharp scythes in place of their either or both hands.

May have one 2nd generation variation (Bloody/Irradiated/Diseased/Burnt) at the same time. They deal +50% damage compared to other 3rd generation variants. Long range, and near-lethal damage make them extremely dangerous to face in close quarters. Long-range weaponry are recommended. Close-range attacks are viable as long as the player is able to prevent them from attacking via stunning the enemy.

These special infected block any bullets using their strong spines.

May have one 2nd generation variation (Bloody/Irradiated/Diseased/Burnt) at the same time. Armoured spines are completely bulletproof and will deflect all firearm damage if shot at. Melee and Chainsaw will bypass the bulletproof spines and deal full damage.

These special infected sport massive Cysts that can be exploded to stun them, the gas the Cysts contain are very dangerous to inhale however.

May have one 2nd generation variation (Bloody/Irradiated/Diseased/Burnt) at the same time. Individual cysts explode when shot by firearms, dealing damage to surrounding players and stunning the zombie. Detonating a cyst on the head may also prevent decapitation. Precision is key when fighting with a firearm in close quarters. Melee and Chainsaw will not detonate the cysts.

4th Generation Variants[]

These infected can be encountered in level 45+ areas, and may or may not include a single 2nd generation variation at the same time, however EXP reward will not be increased for defeating enemies that have two variations vs enemies with only a 4th generation variation. Level 50 areas will have a higher proportion of infected with 4th generation variants than level 45 areas.

Unlike 2nd generation variants that have both Strong (level 25) and non-Strong (level 15) versions, all 4th generation variants have a single level 45 version (i.e. there are no Strong vs non-Strong versions in this case). They have on average the same health (specifically, Optic have -33% while Tentacled have +33%), deal the same damage and grant +33% EXP of level 35 3rd generation variation enemies.

Sprint Speed: Medium
Experience: Level 45+: 102 Child or Female / 128 Male / 153 Fat Female / 192 Fat Male
Level: 45+
Debuffs: None (for basic variant)

These special mutated infected sport massive cyst-like orange eyes on the torso and the front of the head that open for 5 seconds and then close for 2 seconds.

May have one 2nd generation variation (Bloody/Irradiated/Diseased/Burnt) at the same time. They have -33% health compared to 3rd generation variants. Can only be damaged via firearm shooting while the orange eyes are open, otherwise it will be completely invulnerable to firearm damage and stun. Melee and Chainsaw ignore orange eye closed/open status and always deal full damage.

Tentacled Infected

Health Points: Level 45+:ㅤ32 Child / 42 Female / 64 Male / ~80 Fat Female / 96 Fat Male
Damage per Hit: Level 45+:ㅤ20 Bite / 48 Single Claw / 96 Double Claw / 45 Aura

Sprint Speed: Medium
Experience: Level 45+:ㅤ102 Child or Female / 128 Male / 153 Fat Female / 192 Fat Male

Debuffs: None (for basic variant)

These special infected sport long waving tentacles that deal aura-like damage and stun to anything in range - but only in front of the zombie.

May have one 2st generation variation (Bloody/Irradiated/Diseased/Burnt) at the same time. They have +25% health compared to 3rd generation variants. Tentacles will deal heavy damage and stun for 0.5 second by the player merely touching it, making closed range attacks to the front of the zombie more challenging, however left-click melee attack from maximum range can reach and damage the zombie from the front without the player being damaged or stunned by the tentacle aura.

Mutated[]

Bosses are rare enemies that can be found inside buildings behind doors labeled with "???" , also rarely seen in random rooms or hallways without a "???" warning sign, and not so rarely inside Comer and Son Inc., and occasionally in the streets. They usually have a considerable amount of health points, and deal significantly higher damage per hit than ordinary infected. All bosses have the ability to perform special attacks, and may require a special combat plan to take down.

Notes:

  • Increased damage taken from players that acquired the Hunter skill.
  • Mutated Bosses can be looted after being defeated, they will always drop a Rare or higher quality Weapon, Clothing or Armour.
  • Certain Bosses will begin sprinting at higher levels when alerted.
  • If you want to see guides on how to deal with them, visit the Zerolife channel on Youtube:

In the level 25+ zones these bosses have 2nd generation variants (i.e. either Bloody, Burned, Irradiated, or Diseased versions), have more HP and do more damage per hit, Irradiated having the most health, and Bloody bosses doing the most damage. Burned and Diseased bosses have a chance to spawn with auras, just like their infected counterparts. They also give greatly increased Experience Points at around about 2.5k Experience points without EXP boosts.

Stalker[]

Stalker
Stalker
Health Points: Level 1+; Infinite (must be evaded)
Damage per Hit: Level 5-20; Punch / 35 / Level 25-30; Punch / 35
Calm Speed: None (never calms)
Alerted Speed: Fast
Sprint Speed: None (does not sprint, but may teleport)
Experience: Level 5-14; 1,000 / Level 15-24; 3,000 / Level 25-34; 8,000 / Level 35-44; 12,000 / Level 45+; 16,000
Level: 1+
Debuffs: None

This Mutant will keep you on your toes looking behind your back constantly. The creature continues to relentlessly walk towards and sometimes teleport nearby of its target, never slowing down, and following survivors through both outdoors and buildings. The only way to escape this tall Mutant is to go inside an outpost or attempt to survive by running through different doors for about 5 minutes. Finding a lone NPC hiding in their room will not suffice; the Stalker will follow. If one can evade him, they are rewarded with experience, the amount increasing with player's level. He is completely invulnerable, unkillable. Dealing a significant amount of damage won't make a difference and won't down the mutant; it continues its chase until the prey is slaughtered or has escaped. The Stalker, unlike other Mutants, has never been seen to bite it's target, but rather swing and beat them, the punches are somewhat similar to point-blank shotgun blasts eviscerating the victim.

Randomly spawns if a level 5+ player is outside of an outpost, or spawns on purpose when interacting with an NPC offering a Stalker mission (but note that at most only a single Stalker will pursue any particular player at any given time, i.e. if a Stalker is already pursuing a player - picking up another Stalker mission will NOT cause 2 Stalkers to pursue the player at the same time, and once the player evades the Stalker - another one will not start pursuing the player immediately after). Does not switch targets even if other players are damaging him. Spawns as the Tentacled variant if the target is level 45+, tentacle aura will cause damage and stun to other players that get in range. Running too far away from him will cause him to teleport somewhere nearby so that he can catchup. Logging out of the game and logging in will cause him to spawn again, even after the daily world's reset. Because he can follow the target through buildings, does not slow down to attack and is invulnerable, running back to the outpost is recommended unless the player can shake him off via entering a building after being chased for at least 5 minutes.

Mother[]

Mother

Health Points: Level 10-20; 240 / Level 25-30; 960 / Irradiated; 1200
Damage per Hit: Level 10-20; Bite 16 / One Arm 32 / Two Arms 64 / Level 25-30; Bite 32 / One Arm 64 / Two Arms 128 / Bloody; Bite 48 / One Arm 96 / Two Arms 192

Alerted Speed: Very Slow
Sprint Speed: Very Fast (level 35+ areas only)
Experience: Level 10-20; 960 / Level 25-30; 3,840
Level: 10+
Debuffs: None (for basic variant)

This monstrosity was once a healthy woman in the later stages of pregnancy. The N4 virus unsparingly fused both mother and fetus, as if to further mock the sanctity of life. Taller than most of your average zombies, the mother possesses two pairs of gaping maws as arms, although it isn't her primary form of attack. The nature of the mother creates a breeding ground within her womb for mutated stomach parasites, whom she summons as minions when attacking by expelling them from her body. Despite her size, the mother is slow, even when aggressive or injured.

Attacks by continuously spawning parasites in huge amounts. Any weapon, even melee, can be used against her so as long as survivors can avoid the parasite swarm she summons upon spotting a survivor. Often there's enough space for hit-and-run tactics; stand in one spot to attack her and relocate to another when the parasite swarm approaches.

Finger Head[]

Finger Head

Health Points: Level 10-20; 240 / Level 25-30; 960 / Irradiated; 1,200
Damage per Hit: Level 10-20; Stare 5 / Bite 8 / One Arm 16 / Two Arms 32 / Level 25-30; Stare 10 / Bite 16 / One Arm 32 / Two Arms 64 / Bloody; Stare 10 / Bite 32 / One Arm 64 / Two Arms 128
Calm Speed: Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow/Medium (Random chance of either walking slowly, or walking fast)
Sprint Speed: Very Fast (level 35+ areas only)
Experience: Level 10-20; 960 / Level 25-30; 3,840
Level: 10+
Debuffs: Blurred Vision (when looking at his face) followed by panic

Although his nickname, the rickety figure and awkward gait is laughable at first, "Fingers" is not a threat to trifle with. His optical senses have undergone extreme mutation in bio-luminescence in addition to the usual size and muscle mutations. Although survivors are told to aim for the head, survivors who looked at his face instead met a very blinding glare into their eyes, often leaving them stunned long enough for Fingers to close in and use the fingers surrounding his head to grab their face and eat them face first while continuously torturing their eyes with his glares. For the lucky ones that manage to escape, they did so with temporary or permanent eye damage.

Damages anyone who aims firearms at his face. Upon looking at his face, the player's screen will become blurry and, if stared for long enough, will damage the player and inflict panic debuff. Quick flicks are recommended if one is planning to frontally attack his face, unless the player loops him around an obstacle.

Choir[]

Choir
Choir
Health Points: Level 10-20; 240 / Level 25-30; 960 / Irradiated; 1,200
Damage per Hit: Level 10-20; Roar 20 / Bite 16 / One Arm 32 / Two Arms 64 / Level 25-30; Roar 40 / Bite 32 / One Arm 64 / Two Arms 128 / Bloody; Roar 40 / Bite 48 / One Arm 96 / Two Arms 192
Calm Speed: Slow
Alerted Speed: Slow
Sprint Speed: Very Fast (level 35+ areas only)
Experience: Level 10-20; 960 / Level 25-30; 3,840
Level: 10+
Debuffs: panic (when hit by his scream)

The Choir, named for his many head growths, is a very dangerous enemy to face even in groups. With multiple heads and a highly mutated vocal cord, the Choir's primary form of attack is to scream so loud that it damages the hearings of survivors and leaves them stunned for them to close in and tenderize victims with his giant bony spike that was once his arm.

Attacks by screaming and damaging everyone close to him, while also inflicting panic debuff. His multiple heads allow for easier headshots due to the increased hitbox. Will periodically scream and damage anyone nearby. The roar can be dodged or interrupted if one stuns him while he is screaming.

Tendril[]

Tendril
Tendril
Health Points: Level 20; 180 / Level 25-30; 720 / Irradiated; 900
Damage per Hit: Level 15-20; Bite 16 / One Arm 32 (Sometimes less) / Doesn't attack with 2 arms apparently / Level 25-30; Bite 32 / One Arm 64 / Bloody; Bite 48 / One Arm 96
Calm Speed: Slow
Alerted Speed: Very Fast
Sprint Speed: Very Fast
Experience: Level 15-20; 960 / Level 25-30; 3,840
Level: 15+
Debuffs: None (for basic variant)

Once an ordinary female infected, the N-4 virus mutated its unfortunate victim into a figure that looks like it walked out of a nightmare. Its moniker is derived from the meter-long tentacles that have replaced its arms. The Tendril now uses these tentacles to slam survivors with enough force to break multiple bones, severely bruise muscle tendons, and tear deep lacerations in the skin. This abomination is exceptionally deadly due to its heightened senses, unearthly reflexes, and ludicrous speed. Close-quarters combat isn't impossible, but it is not recommended. It is not uncommon for a survivor to be eviscerated before his weapon can be drawn against it.

Can sprint like the Titan, but sprints significantly faster and for a longer duration. Her attacks are very quick and have a large reach doing tonnes of damage in a very short amount of time. Unlike the Titan, the Tendril has a small hitbox that may make it difficult to land shots on her although her head is more exposed and she has only half the health points. High jog speed is recommended when combating her. Melee is unadvised.

Titan[]

Titan

Health Points: Level 15-20; 375 / Level 25-30; 1,500 / Irradiated; 1,875
Damage per Hit: Level 15-20; Bite 32 / One Arm 64 / Two Arms 128 / Level 25-30; Bite 64 / One Arm 128 / Two Arms 192 / Bloody; Bite 96 / One Arm 192 / Two Arms 288
Calm Speed: Slow
Alerted Speed: Very Fast
Sprint Speed: Very Fast
Experience: Level 15-20; 1,920 / Level 25-30; 7,680
Level: 15+
Debuffs: None (for basic variant)

It's rumored that Palehaven's top body builders used the N-4 Drug to stay one step above the rest of the competition, which have since mutated their elitist bodies into a monstrous and twisted mold of a "Titan". This beast is the stuff of nightmares, using his terrifying loud roars to intimidate his prey whilst charging at full speed. His bulky mutated muscles are deceivingly fast and brutally strong, capable of ramming over tanks before they can even turn to fire. He has also been rumored to slice off limbs with his fingers which have mutated into sharp bones.

A huge and tough enemy that can sprint towards the player for an extended period, but cannot attack a player while moving. His head is rather less exposed which makes scoring headshots problematic. Exploit his large hitbox to continuously land shots on him. Melee is unadvised.

Spitter[]

Experience: Level 15-20 (Spawns in level 25 areas); 1,920 / Level 25-30; 7,680
Level: 15+
Debuffs: Severe Burns (Vomit)

Even after seeing them eat the flesh our loved ones, we had difficulties accepting the truth. They were real and they wanted us dead. Never in our wildest imaginations did we realize that it could get even worse. Lately, there have been rumors circulating the outposts with word about a new kind of threat that would not be sated with just trying to eat us alive. She would first prefer to melt the flesh from our bones. Those who have survived their encounters with it have dubbed it as "The Spitter". Doctor Ozmark has theorized that the N-4 virus has manifested a strange mutation that somehow appears to overstimulate the build-up of gastric acids inside Spitter's stomach, which she then launches from her mouth towards her prey. If word of mouth is to be believed, there are more terrifying surprises lurking within the shadows of our once beloved hometown...

The supposed "Sister" to Fingers, the Spitter shares similar movements to Fingers, with the exception of being more lethal. The Spitter is unique unlike other bosses, as it relies more on its ranged attack that inflicts Severe Burn on anyone who is unfortunate enough to get hit. It is also the only boss that cannot sprint regardless of the level in the area it is located.

Debuffs: Bacterial Infection (Vomit)

NB. Basic variant exists in level 15-20 areas; video shows a Scythed Bloody variant from level 35+ areas. An extremely agile enemy with a delayed ranged attack and hard hitting physical attacks. Her flies will blanket any area she projects them onto for a brief period of time.

Fires fly swarms towards players. Attack range can cover the length of an entire room. Fly swarms are hard to spot as they are merely tiny flying black dots. Can also sprint just as fast as Tendril, but cannot attack as quickly as the latter.

A large, highly mobile infected that produces toxic gas along any path he travels. The Creep produces worms similarly to the Mother and is deceptively fast and hard hitting.

Constantly expels poisonous gas that deals heavy damage. Can sprint like Titan and Tendril, but has a significantly shorter sprint duration than the former. Fighting in enclosed areas is significantly more difficult due to the gas left behind that can impede the player's mobility.

Stealth boss that uses invisibility and crawling to ambush players. He will periodically fade in and out of invisibility, making it difficult to predict his next moves. He crawls when sprinting to further make himself hard to hit. However, his continuous growling noise or the damage aura if Burnt or Diseased allows nearby players to pinpoint his location.

Debuffs: ?

Little crawler that leaps and deals loads of damage (placeholder obviously)

Crawls on all-fours before leaping at the player. Leap attack is one of the most damaging attacks in the game, capable of killing even the toughest survivors. Use high mobility to dodge his leaping attacks and high firepower to keep him at bay or even stun him as he is about to leap. Melee is recommended, as its short range will prevent the Reaper from jumping.

Cultists[]

Cultist's are boss enemies that can be found inside Ravenwall Heights Community Hospital which is located in Ravenwall Heights, there are also Challenges that include Cultist's in them as well.

Notes:

  • Increased damage taken from players that acquired the Hunter skill.
  • Cultists are very tanky, so its recommended to bring a lot of ammo and a friend to fight them.
  • Cultists are also really fast, and they can catch up to you quickly, so high jog, sprint and movement speed is recommended to avoid their attacks.
Acolyte Of The Nearing End

Damage per Hit: ?
Calm Speed: Fast
Alerted Speed: Fast
Sprint Speed: Fast
Experience: Level 50; 960+ (Estimate)
Level: 50
Debuffs: Bleeding

Low class cultist, fully covered in spines besides legs, and also has both scythes that attack quick as hell.

Acolyte that is probably easiest one of the rest, as it cant sprint at you, its really easy to fight this acolyte in spacious rooms, besides small rooms, as he has long range of his attack, and attacks super quickly, which arent easy to avoid. Weapons with good accuracy or body damage are recommended, as he can be damaged only in head, which is mostly covered in spines, and legs, which dont have any spines.

Acolyte Of The Relentless Spite
Health Points: Level 50; 8,000+ (Estimate)
Damage per Hit: ?
Calm Speed: Fast
Alerted Speed: Fast
Sprint Speed: Very Fast
Experience: Level 50; 960+ (Estimate)
Level: 50
Debuffs: Severe Burns

Low class cultist, that his only special ability is to spit.

Acolyte that is quite easy as well, but you have to be cautious, its easy to defeat them in big rooms and also small rooms, but its kinda tricky. This cultist's only special ability is to spit, just like the spitter, but it can sprint, if you keep a good distance and attack when its in spitting or recovering stamina state, youll be fine. This cultist's melee attack speed is high too, so keep that in mind if you ever wanted to fight him face-to-face.

Acolyte Of The Nightmare Embrace
Health Points: Level 50; 8,000+ (Estimate)
Damage per Hit: ?
Calm Speed: Fast
Alerted Speed: Fast
Sprint Speed: Very Fast
Experience: Level 50; 960+ (Estimate)
Level: 50
Debuffs: Panic

Low class cultist, that is tentacled and screams like choir, but doesnt scream at all and just deals damage and grants the Panic debuff if youre close.

Acolyte that is tricky, as you have to evade their tentacles and not be close to it, as he can "scream" without you knowing it, dealing some damage and giving you the Panic debuff. Again, its easier to fight them in big rooms, and its quite a challenge to fight them in small rooms. Its really recommended to bring some Anti-anxiety Medication, to avoid getting the Panic debuff. To fight it, you will need to have quite some movement speed, as if its tentacles hit you, thay have a chance to stun you for some time, and just like the other acolytes, its attack speed is high too.

Event Infected[]

The special infected only appear during temporary special events such as; purple Challenges, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Other than crows, they are often taller than all other infected and have a higher amount of HP, also meaning that they grant a large amount of experience points similar to a level 15 boss.

Whether they are birds that have been feeding on infected flesh and are infected by an avian strain of the N4 virus, or are just driven by extreme hunger, the crows of Palehaven are known to attack survivors. While they are weak, they can fly over any terrain and do massive damage, as they hit exposed areas on a survivor's head and neck. While they often hunt alone, they are known to come in flocks when aggro is high.

Moving can often keep them from attacking but they can be quite dangerous when flocking in large groups. Spawns in specific purple Challenges only.

The winter blaze returns with a new creature from the dark corners of the undead world; a hideous, giant Reaper, outpacing even regular Reapers and instilling fear into survivors that spot it.

The Voracious Ice Devil appeared in the Winter 2023 Event; this Reaper, instead of the regular leap attack, will gallop towards the player at a fast rate, imitating the Pumpkin Tendril's movement, while still retaining the regular reaper's movement. Survivors are suggested to make use of stuns from ranged weapons and keep their distance at all times.

Bestiary Book[]

There is also a Bestiary Book created by Adam Earlston, which has some extra lore on each infected type, how the outbreak started, and a bit of a story with each mutated boss. Oh and some cool artwork :P
