Introduction to Shotguns Edit

In Dead Frontier 2, shotguns deliver massive headshot damage. Shotguns are generally designed for close quarters combat due to their spread shot, but they can also be useful at longer ranges due to the high chance to hit the enemy with at least a single pellet and the rather tight shot spread, although it is not advisable to do so. Every well-aimed shotgun pellet adds up to the total damage per shot, but then again you could also do very little damage if too few pellets hit the target. And so, always go up and close to your target to maximize damage.

Advantages and Disadvantages Edit

Advantages

  • Shotguns have a huge headshot damage even for low level shotguns, making this gun suitable for the "Head Hunter" perk.
  • Great body damage per hit.
  • Great knockback distance.

Disadvantages

  • They have the smallest ammo box (40 per box).
  • Limited range.
  • Slow aim time (can be fixed with "Marksman").
  • Long reload time (can be fixed with "Reloading").
  • Low clip size.

Intended for use in harsh and dirty conditions, the Model 500 series is designed to be easy to clean and maintain. Perfect for the rugged zombie hunter.

However, in DF2 the firing rate is dependent on the player's skill tree. Regardless, it's 12 gauge round is more than sufficient enough to blast the zombie's head into minced spaghetti.

Real Name: Mossberg 500 Persuader

For a long time, the survivors of Fairview had issues managing their time between firing their shots, and reloading the tedious shotgun shells back into the barrel. It just so happened that there was a number of Mannberg 590Ms recently found in the gun craze alongside the Dragon SVD, Lanchesters, and MAC-11s. Distributed among those who were defined and stronger than the rest, the shotgun proves that while there might be no way of stopping the dead, there was definitely a way to put ALOT of holes in them without having to reload.
